Salacca´s contribution to protect Malaysian elephants threatened with extinction
Dear visitors of the salacca website,
According to estimates there are only about 1,200 wild Asian elephants left in Malaysia. With our campaign „A heart for elephants“, we would like to support the elephant orphanage in Kuala Gandah, Malaysia. The KGECC (Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre), located in the middle of a tropical rainforest, serves as base camp and training and upbringing station for elephants. Managed by the Malaysian Department of Wildlife and National Parks, this centre pursues the ambitious project to protect the remaining elephants threatened with extinction. For more details please go to: http://www.myelephants.org/kghistory.html
If you have a heart for elephants as well, please support our campaign by ordering one or more books of the Malaysian artist Yusof Gajah in the salacca e-shop. Yusof Gajah (the Malay word Gajah means elephant) has focused for many years on painting elephants in an abstract way and he has won reputation as a great artist in Malaysia and beyond. For every book ordered in the salacca e-shop 2 EUR will be donated to the KGECC.
